WHEN LOVE AND JEALOUSY COLLIDE ON THE SLOPES, WINTER BREAK TURNS DEADLY...

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires - the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.

Rose has serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor, Dimitri, has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian.

Then a nearby Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir's on high alert, and the Academy whisks its students away on a mandatory holiday ski trip. But the glittering winter landscape and posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose - and her heart - are in more danger than she ever could have imagined...

Now, What I Thought:

Ahh, This is when shit goes down...!!! This book is jam packed and I loved every minute of it! Lots and lots of stuff happen and stakes are higher than ever for Rose. Mason is more prominent in this book, which is nice considering he's actually a pretty good fighter along with Eddie. Christian is the troubled, fire starter who actually does like Lissa, and wants to help her, unlike Aaron, her stupid ex boyfriend who's now dating Mia. Oh Mia, I grew to like her, I mean you kind of have to with what happens. Her spat with Rose just made my day, it was absolutely hilarious and Rose obviously couldn't give 2 shits, which only infuriated Mia more.

The name, Frostbite, is basically foreshadowing since St. Vlad's is going on a field trip! Yay! At the ski lodge, Rose and us finally get to meet Adrian. My favourite character of all time! Adrian is the nephew of the Queen of the Moroi, which makes Adrian royalty. He is pretty troubled, addicted to smokes and an already alcoholic. He takes an interest in Rose, which is the beginning of everything.. -insert heart eyes- lol! But Adrian just isn't any normal Moroi royal, he happens to have some unique special powers as well, coincidently coinciding with Lissa, his cousin (?).

The end of the book is here and Rose and Christian team up to save the 3 stupid friends of hers risking everything. Shit goes down, bad shit. Annnnnnddddd something bad happens that is just a complete shock! Mead is truly ruthless to spring this on us! While, it was sad and very heart wrenching to read for Rose's sake, it needed to be done and the series wouldn't be what it was today, without it. Dimitri is there to pick up the pieces of Rose's shattered heart along with, surprisingly, her very distant mother.

This was probably my 2nd favourite book in the series, just because the ending was written superbly and really put into perspective the dangers Rose and Lissa are experiencing.
